I figured out what I want to do with my life today. As I have said in the past, driving in Cairo is crazy. It often reminds me of the scene in the Bourne Identity where he is racing through Paris in a mini-cooper. As I was thinking about this, a brilliant idea came to me. I would buy a new mini-cooper and put some extra bumpers on it, kind of like the ones you find on a Jeep, you know to protect the frame from fender benders, then I would get my taxi license and just be a cab-driver in Cairo. Since there are not any traffic laws in this city I could drive anyway I want do. This would be really fun and I would guarantee the fastest delivery time and thus make a ton of money. Okay that’s the first part of the life-plan. Second part: Cairo reached its heyday in about the 1930’s and so they have a lot of gorgeous building built in the Victorian style. Well unfortunately, most of these buildings have become dilapidated and run-down. There are some gorgeous homes in Cairo that just need a little renovation. So my life-plan comes into play because I want to become a real-estate developer in Cairo where I take these old Victorian houses and renovate them. Alright it’s kind of whimsical but at least it’s a life plan.
Today was also the last day of Survival Arabic. It went pretty well and I think my pronunciation is finally getting better. I only have classes four days a week, so that means I don’t start real classes until Monday. I also found out that my Politics class is taught by one of the worst professors at AUC. Great just my luck.
